Beware: Crypto scams are at its peak. Indian businessman scammed with $15000.

On May 1st an India based businessman reportedly scammed by a suspicious group of scammers. The scammers contacted the victim Ashish through twitter as London based, Hong-Kong native who went by the name Nancy. Ashish run an event management company and interact with lot of international customers and salesperson, especially with Chinese salesperson. So he easily caught in trap. They texted each other for next two week almost every day, the female scammer kept her conversation very polite and professional and gained the trust of the victim.

One day scammer asked Ashish about crypto investment. After learning that Ashish has a little inclination towards crypto investment, she started to lure the victim towards the trap. First she told the victim that she made lot of money by investing in Bitcoin after she moved to London. Ashish started to take knowledge of crypto and started to believe, when she told him about a new coin which is about to launch and convinced him to invest pre ICO. Ashish was promised to bag handsome profits by this investment.

The scammers designed the perfect website and fake coin named “wind power energy”(WPE) and it was supposed to be purchased only by invitation. Scammer feeds fake data, graphs and testimony to the victim. By the time victim realised the coin is fake, he had lost $15000. “I was led to believe that my investment would multiply several times once the coin went public”, Ashish told the local media.
